Our client is one of the major Banking Organisations in the Middle East. Headquartered in Jeddah, they are the largest bank in terms of capital in the Arab world. Being pioneers in Islamic Banking and providing a wide range of innovative Islamic alternatives for various traditional services and products; they are also the biggest Financial Asset Manager in the Arab region and the first to offer mutual funds in the Kingdom. The Bank is now seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Competitive Intelligence Manager to establish and run their CI Unit.

Based in Jeddah and reporting to the Head of Market Research, the CI Manager is responsible for the creation of a Competitive Intelligence function for the group. As part of the Central Marketing Research group, the Manager will collectively collaborate with various businesses and other internal / external stakeholders within the group in order to develop a robust CI application. With previous experience of establishing a CI Unit; you will draft the business plan, map out policies and procedures and build the capability in order to enhance the efficiency of all business units.

Acting as the CI and knowledge specialist aligned with multiple departments, teams and managements, you will develop pre-defined standards to ensure legal and ethical approaches to CI, protecting company interests and confidentiality. Developing and implementing CI best practices, you will build and maintain competitor landscapes and will make recommendations for technical applications suitable to maintain a user-friendly, actionable and trackable database.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Relevant professional qualifications from a recognised institution in business / marketing / economics / research or related field.
• Minimum 10 years experience, specifically in the development & management of the CI function.
• Strong communication and people skills
• Recent experience in the banking industry is a plus
• Broad knowledge and experience with the IT used for searching, developing and maintaining a CI function
• Middle East experience is a definite plus.
