Job Description:-
Our client is a leading Middle East Merchant bank with its primary focus on the GCC countries. Headquartered in Bahrain and with a track record spanning more than 30 years, they provide client-led innovative financial products and services. Their client base includes major private sector corporations; Gulf based Financial Institutions, multi-national companies active in the Middle East region and governments of the GCC States.
They are now seeking an experienced and qualified Group Head of IT to lead all IT functions within the Group. Based in Bahrain, you will oversee and manage all Information Technology issues within the Banks multiple branches.
With proven experience in managing a Group IT function within a Bank or Financial Institution and the ability to manage and motivate teams; you will be fully conversant with the operating systems and the various functions that support Banking Operations across all Business Units including front office, back office and Treasury dealing activities. Responsible for all areas within IT including IT Security, IT Audit and IT applications, you will be a seasoned Senior IT Professional fully familiar with preparing and monitoring capital expenditure and operating expenses budgets across multi site facilities with full P&L accountability. You will have proven experience of vendor management and will understand the specific requirements needed to implement, maintain and support Core Banking, Risk Management & Front Office Systems.
Interfacing with Infrastructure and Communication service providers, this critical role requires clear understanding of implementing and supporting Information Data Services, Reuters, Direct Dealing, Bloomberg etc.
To be considered for this role you will have:
- A minimum 15 years in a Senior IT role within a Bank or Financial Institution
- At least 10 years at management level.
- Excellent man management and communication skills in English – Arabic a bonus
- Previous P&L experience
- Core Banking implementation, Risk Management and Front / Back office experience
- Particular expertise in Treasury dealing applications
- Knowledge of the GCC vendor market
