Job Description:-
Our client is a leading Middle East merchant bank with its primary focus on the GCC countries. Headquartered in Bahrain and with a track record spanning more than 30 years, their client base includes major GCC based private sector corporations and financial institutions, GCC governments and governmental entities and multi-national companies active in the Middle East region.
They are now seeking an experienced lawyer, who will report to the head of the Bank’s legal function.
Based in Bahrain, the post holder will be a banking lawyer with 2+ years PQE. Fully au fait with general banking law, you will advise the Bank on a broad range of general banking matters, including wholesale banking, derivatives, trade finance, treasury products and capital markets. You will have excellent drafting skills, as much of the Bank’s documentation is prepared in-house.
A highly motivated self-starter, your experience will probably have been gained at a recognised banking practice in a common law jurisdiction. Although much of the Bank’s documentation is governed by English law and knowledge of English law would, therefore, be an advantage, an English legal qualification is not prerequisite for the post.
