Job Description:-
A top Middle East investment Bank has received approval from Saudi Arabia’s Capital Market Authority (CMA) to commence operations in the Kingdom.
The Client will provide the Saudi market with an integrated and comprehensive range of Islamic investment products and services, with the full support and depth by the established Islamic investment bank headquartered in Bahrain.
The Client is looking to appoint a General Counsel based in Riyadh. This is a new role and will work closely with the Deputy CEO and MD&CEO in Saudi, as well as assisting the business lines on transactions relating to their product and service offering and business activities. The role heads the legal function in KSA.
Duties:
In performing this role the main function is to seek to protect the client against unnecessary legal and compliance related risks in transactions undertaken by the client and its business lines on such risks on a case by case basis. Responsibilities include;

setting up and establishing the legal office

working with the head of compliance to implement KSA’s compliance policy

interact and liaise with governmental officials.

review, draft and negotiate various documents related to the UCSA' activities

identifying and ensuring the implementation of and the compliance with UCSA' legal, regulatory and corporate governance matters.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Lawyer and have a combination of;
-
7+ years experience including M&A's, business transactions, contract law, finance, banking, and corporations/business entities.

A law degree from a reputable institution with a license to practice law (US, UK, GCC).

Fluency in both Arabic and English

Experience in Saudi Arabian law and/or law of another GCC or MENA jurisdiction is preferred.

Exposure to Islamic financing is desirable.
