Senior Management Accountant

Job Description:-

This is a key role within the finance function and will give the successful candidate significant exposure to a wide variety of senior operational and financial members of the management team. The Management Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of management accounting for our Investment Bank including the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packs, supporting the budgeting and forecasting process and provision of detailed variance analysis such as the analysis of business performance against KPIs and strategic business plans.

Duties:

Responsibilities will include;

  • Prepare, develop and analyse management accounting information

  • Periodic financial statements, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries

  • Review of P&L during the monthly close, advising Financial Accountant of required reclassification's

  • Help develop a comprehensive ALCO reporting pack to ensure ALCO and Treasury have relevant information to manage the Bank’s cash flow, funding and liquidity needs.

  • Working with the businesses to provide transaction support, ensuring transactions are structured and placed generating financial returns for our meeting IFRS/ AAOIFI accounting standards

  • Analyse actual results compared to budget, forecast, and current trends, compare variance results to business drivers

  • Assist in the preparation of 3 year strategic plan and annual operating plan ensuring plans and budgets meet the performance criteria set by business lines.

  • Work closely with the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) with the year-end processes

  • Assist the Head of FP&A in developing a capital allocation mechanism, liaising with ALCO, Risk and Investment and Post-Investment Committee's to ensure capital resources are allocated to business lines appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates will possess a formal accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and preferably have previous financial services experience. Candidates from a commercial background wanting to move into financial services will also be considered. Exposure to MIS reporting systems such as Business Objects would be an advantage.

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified Accountant

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Ability to solve problems and create solutions

  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural organization

  • Strong experience in providing excellent client service in the face of conflicting demands and tight reporting deadlines

  • Good organizational skills

  • Well-developed commentary writing skills
